UBA ACTIVITES

  • On behalf of Saveetha College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, 20 students organized an Awareness Programme on Tree Plantation and Village Greening on 22/11/2025, promoting environmental sustainability and encouraging villagers to plant and maintain native trees.

  • As a part of UBA activity 20  students from SCLAS visited Ulundai Village on 10/05/2025  to create awareness on “Air Pollution and Clean Water,” stressing the importance of clean air, safe drinking water, and proper waste management.

  • On behalf of Saveetha College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, 15 students visited Ulundai Village on 31/05/2025 as part of the UBA activity to promote Yoga for Mindfulness in Daily Life. They created awareness by encouraging villagers to practise walking, cleaning, breathing exercises, and Suryanamaskar.

  • On behalf of Saveetha College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, 17 students visited Ulundai Village on 03/05/2025 as part of the UBA activity. They created awareness on Mental Health and Well-being, encouraging villagers to stay open-minded and seek guidance whenever needed.

  • On behalf of Saveetha College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, as part of the UBA activity, 12 students visited Ulundai Village on 03/05/2025 to create awareness on Waste Management and Recycling, emphasizing its environmental and economic benefits.

  • As a part of UBA activity 17  students from SCLAS visited Ulundai Village on 31/08/2024  to create awareness on the “Importance of Education,” motivating villagers through engaging speeches on personal and national development.

  •  As a part of UBA activity 23  students from SCLAS visited Ulundai Village on 23/03/2024  to create awareness on the harmful effects of plastic and encourage the use of cloth and paper bags along with the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle.

  • As a part of UBA activity 18  students from SCLAS  visited Mappedu Village on 09/03/2024  to create awareness on Water Resource Management, educating villagers on efficient water use, landforms, the water cycle, and community-based water planning.

  • As a part of UBA activity 29  students from SCLAS  visited Keelachery Village on 02/03/2024 to create awareness on Sustainable Agriculture, emphasizing healthy soil building, water management, and pollution reduction.

  • As a part of UBA activity 26 students from SCLAS visited Ulundai Village on 09/12/2023 to create awareness on banking services, loan procedures, interest rates, and educational loan schemes for villagers and 100-days workers.

  • As a part of UBA activity 37  students from SCLAS visited  Ulundai Village on 04/11/2023 to promote a “Plastic Free Campaign,” encouraging the public and school students to use reusable bags, containers, utensils, and bottles.

  • As a part of UBA activity 28  students from SCLAS visited Sembarambakkam Village on 28/10/2023 and conducted a rally promoting smokeless Deepavali, encouraging eco-friendly celebrations with lamps, homemade delicacies, and family gatherings.

  • As a part of UBA activity 43 students from SCLAS visited Mevalurkuppam Village on 14/10/2023  to create awareness on health, family welfare, and nutrition through charts and interactive explanations.

  • As a part of UBA activity 20 students from SCLAS visited Sembarambakkam Village on 09/09/2023  and created awareness on hepatitis through a street play, sharing information on infections, prevention, and the importance of vaccination.

  • As a part of UBA activity 47 students from SCLAS visited Keelachery Village on 02/09/2023  to create awareness on various agricultural banking schemes, including Kisan Credit Card and PM Kisan initiatives, helping farmers understand and avail these benefits.

  • As a part of UBA activity 38 students from SCLAS visited Ulundai Village on 26/08/2023 where school students were trained in various yoga asanas and pranayama by Dr. M. Hemamalini  to promote health and well-being.

  • As a part of UBA activity 41 students from SCLAS visited Ulundai Village on 29/07/2023  to create awareness on “Say No to Plastic,” educating the public, children, and shopkeepers on the harmful effects of plastic and promoting the use of eco-friendly bags.

  • As a part of UBA activity 16 students from SCLAS visited Ulundai Village on 18/03/2023 to create awareness on hygiene, COVID safety, exam preparation along with distributing stationeries. As part of NSS, students also cleaned nearby school and public areas.

21 Sclas students visited Sembarambakkam Village, provided vegetables and foodstuffs to the cyclone-affected villagers, organised by the Department of FinTech on 21st December 2023.

37 Sclas students visited Mappedu Village and created awareness on “How to Develop Skills and Confidence”, organised by the Department of FinTech on 2nd December 2023.

37 Sclas students visited Kilacheri Village and created awareness on “Exercise and Its Importance”. Students imparted knowledge and inspired the village school students about the benefits of regular exercise to lead a healthy lifestyle  on 25th November 2023, organised by the Department of FinTech.

25 Sclas students visited Kilacheri Village and created awareness on “Importance of Post Office Savings”. Students delivered talks regarding various postal savings plans and emphasized the value of saving money on 18th November 2023.

37 Sclas students visited Ulundhai Village and created awareness on “Plastic Free Campaign” through a rally. Students delivered informative talks and interacted with the village school students on 4th November, 2023.

Students of Sclas  went to Sembarambakkam Village to raise consciousness about "Smokeless Deepavali." Through a rally, students created an awareness on eco-friendly Diwali that is smoke-free, noise-free, and safe for everyone on 28th October, 2023.

Under UBA –  43 students visited Mevalurkuppam Village and created awareness about “Health, Family welfare and Nutrition”  on 14th October 2023.

11 Sclas students went to Mappedu Village to create an awareness on “Sexual Harassment at workplace”. Students met the public and educated them on safeguarded themselves from Sexual Harassment on 23th September 2023

Under UBA(Unnat Bharat Abhiyan) – 20 Sclas students visited Sembarambakkam Village and created awareness on “Hepatitis” through street plays related to various unknown infections, importance of hepatitis injection and how to keep themselves safe from diseases on 9th September 2023. 87 villagers benefitted from this programme.

Under UBA (Unnat Bharat Abhiyan)–  47 students visited Keelachery Village to create awareness on Banking facilities  provided by the banks for the farmers to develop agriculture. Students educated the villagers on  schemes like  Kisan Credit Card, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Gramin, Bhandaran Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan  Yojana, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana,  Micro Irrigation Scheme etc on 02nd September  2023.  

Under UBA(Unnat Bharat Abhiyan) – On 26.08.2023, 38 students visited  Ulundhai Village and organized a program on “Yoga and its Benefits”. 96 students from Government Primary and Higher Secondary schools were taught various Asanas - Tadasana, Utkattasana, Padhahasthasana, Trikonasana,  Padmasana, Paschimottasana, Navasana, Koormasana and Pranayama by the resource person  Dr.M.Hemamalini Assistant Professor (Yoga)  from simats engineering.

Under IIC - Dr Shibe Rimo and Dr V Senthil Kumaran, Associate Professors ,Department of BBA organized an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Outreach Program Titled  “ Entrepreneurship as a Career Opportunity” at Sri Krishnaswamy Matriculation Higher Secondary School , Villivakkam on 24.8.2023. 92 school students benefitted from this outreach program.   

Under UBA(Unnat Bharat Abhiyan) – 30 students visited  Mappedu Village and delivered an awareness speech on  “Road safety  to avoid Accidents” . The students explained different symbols , rules and regulations and safety measures to the Villagers of Mappedu on 05.08.2023.

Under UBA(Unnat Bharat Abhiyan)-  On the Eve of christmas, the students of Commerce and Management donated cakes, books , stationery and provisions to the families of construction workers at Thandalam on 23.12.22.

Under UBA(Unnat Bharat Abhiyan) - 30 students visited the Govt Hr Sec School at Ulundhai Village and spread awareness about Higher Education among students and people in the Village on 26.11.2022.

       As part of our social initiative and under the UBA scheme, SCLAS ( Saveetha college of Liberal Arts and Sciences) is organised "Hindi Classes" for the children of construction workers at Thandalam campus. Since Hindi is our Official Language and with the objective to impart education, there is an imperative need to conduct this program. The Classes are taken everyday for 1 hour in the Thandalam Campus.The children are in the age group of 6- 11 years. The classes are taken by Mrs S. Lavanya, Asst Prof- Hindi dept. The children are receiving the same with interest and enthusiasm.

 Under UBA(Unnat Bharat Abhiyan) Scheme, 27 students conducted a village survey in Ulandai village. 300 questionnaires were completed on population data, infrastructure and other facilities available in the village on 5th March 2022.

NSS (NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME) - SIMATS

The NSS Students of SCLAS, in association with Environmentalist Foundation of India (EFI) Participated in the poonamalle lake clean-up project on 5th June 2022. 10 students and 2 faculty participated with enthusiasm.

 On 17th March 2022, “One Student One Tree”, tree sampling was held in SIMATS Sports Complex in Thandalam. Respected Dr. N. M. Veeraiyan, Chancellor and Dr. Gunita Arun Chandhok, Principal and all Faculty and Students from SCLAS participated enthusiasm.

Under NSS , SIMATS and SCLAS - 30 students visited the Govt Hr Sec School at Ulundai Village and taught Tamil Lessons to the Students on 26.11.2022. 50 school students got benefitted from this program.

10 SCLAS NSS students conducted a program on "Awareness about Covid" at Govt Higher secondary school, and at Govt Primary school, Ulandai village on 5th March, 2022. 50 school students got benefitted from this awarness program.

10 NSS volunteers of SCLAS contributed their services by cleaning the Sri Selva Vinayagar temple at Ulandhai village on 5th March, 2022.
